HOT Winter Tango !!!

Celebrate the winter holidays with hot tango in historic St Louis! This weekend will provide not-to-be missed classes and dancing for experienced dancers in a friendly and intimate environment.

This is a small festival with enrollment limited to 150 participants (including milongas) and gender balanced. Pre-registration is required (including milongas). Early registration is strongly encouraged as registration will be closed when the quota of 75 followers and 75 leaders is reached. Last year the festival sold out 3 months in advance for followers.

The festival has developed a reputation for the high quality of instruction and dancing, as well as for intimacy and friendliness. Participants come from all over North America, with at least 1/3 of the participants tango instructors. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, with an emphasis on social dancing. Good floorcraft will be essential in the milongas. There is no dress code during the festival. A complimentary wine bar with a wide selection of international wines will be available on Saturday night. Sunday evening will feature free microbrewed beer and pizza.

Classes are oriented to serious dancers with multiple-years experience. The level will be advanced. There will be special training for tango instructors, core training and strengthening/flexibility classes as well as additional pre- and post-festival classes.

The venue is conveniently located in a studio near the St Louis airport, with nearby hotels, restaurants and shopping. It features the highest quality floating oak floor.

  • This was an awesome event! All of the teachers were great and the mixing of teachers was really cool. Seeing them work together is a great example for many communities. The workshops were great. The teacher training was challenging which I prefer and provided opportunities for us teachers to learn and share from each other. The DJ class was very informative. The music was great and very carefully DJ'd because I found myself dancing really well to unfamiliar music. I feel that I grew in my musicality during this event. The dancers were highly skilled and also wonderful friendly people too.
